Malasaña Bars

To celebrate the end of midterms, grab a few friends and take them barhopping with you in the trendy and lively neighborhood of Malasaña!

Ojala

Approximately a five-minute walk from the metro stop Tribunal, this restaurant/bar is the perfect place to grab a drink or a bite to eat. Though at first glance it may seem like any other funky restaurant in the neighborhood, the bar is home to a unique venue in its basement.

Once you enter the bar, ask the hostess to seat you downstairs where you will find a makeshift beach. The floor is covered in sand and the seating consists of low benches and tables. The best items on the menu are most definitely the appetizers and their cocktails, so order a few of each and enjoy the ambiance.

Tip: this spot is very popular so it might be a good idea to make a reservation in advance, especially if you are going in a large group!

Macera TallerBar

For those who love a perfect classic cocktail, this is the place for you! And for those who specifically love Gin and Tonics, Macera TallerBar’s menu boasts nearly 10 different twists on the cocktail. This spot brews all their own alcohols and has towers of the bottles on display both behind the bar and in different corners of the venue. The vintage décor and aureate lighting attract groups of friends ranging all age, which is why the place is almost always full of people after 10 pm.

The friendly bartenders often put on a show when mixing drinks and even encourage customers wearing lipstick to leave a kiss print on the any of the walls on their way out. Overall, if you’re a cocktail fanatic, this is the perfect place to spend a night out.

Tip: Grab a few drinks here before heading to Pacha, the club is only a two-minute walk away!

La Bicicleta

When the sun sets in Madrid, this daytime café turns into a bar, attracting young locals and their friends. With its rustic, yet edgy décor, this is the perfect spot to grab a drink and some tapas with friends. This bar serves all the classic cocktails and has a great selection of wines and beers.

La Bicicleta is also conveniently situated in an area littered with pizza shops so, as you are leaving the bar after drinks, you are almost guaranteed to stumble upon a stand that will serve you the perfect slice.

Tip: this place also offers both gluten-free and vegan options which you can pair with your cocktails if you get there before the dinner service is over!
