Meet the Cast of MRL
The final day is coming closer. Probably, you have seen the posters hanging around campus. Everybody is talking about it. Yes. The Memories of the Lion and the Rose will finally see the light this Wednesday, 11th at 6pm in the Aula Magna, Segovia Campus. The Members of the Theatre Club brings you an original story of life, wisdom, love… and much more. An introspective contemplation of human nature that will certainly not leave you indifferent. To make the waiting a little more bearable, the Stork has had the exclusive opportunity to chat with some of the cast and get a sneak peek into the mysterious project!
Character: Salomon
Actor: Adam Wilson Barnes, first year PLE student from the UK
Do you identify with your character?
I do slightly, because he’s stuck in between two worlds, which really gives him an interesting perspective. He also has a lot of trouble handling relationships and work, which I can relate to.
Why would people come see your character?
Because he’s very interesting and he can make you think about everything you want to do and how to do it, while dealing with amazing emotions such as love and hatred. Salomon’s confusion, and his lust to do good make for a very interesting character development throughout the play.
Something you would like to add…
You should just come watch the play because it is M. Night Shyamalan on fire!
Character: Lola
Actor: Alessia Ricchiuti, second year Psychology student from Italy.
Do you identify with your character?
Some aspects of her. She’s very shy, really insecure, ‘cute’ in some ways… and that’s the only thing that doesn’t really connect with me, because I’m really an extrovert and don’t have any problems talking to people. But then she cares a lot about people, and she’s a very cool girl – I love her! (laughs)
Why would people come see your character?
I think that every character in this play has something to teach the audience. Like we do this in our own way: for instance, Joey teaches everybody to be fun and to overcome the forth the fears of life that every man has, Adam is a brave character that has a total shift… My character I guess she will – hopefully – show the audience to be more self aware, introspective, and more caring towards others.
Something you would like to add…
We are really working hard on this, and I’m super excited! I hope that many people will be able to come and watch our play because we are putting our hearts in it, and it’s going to be awesome!
_______
Character: Joey, the merchant of hot dogs and drugs
Actor: Ghali Laraqui, first year BBABIR student from Morocco.
Do you identify with your character?
No, I don’t think that I want to be a hot dog merchant, nor a drug dealer… But I think Joey is funny. And I like being funny!
Why would people come see your character?
People might laugh a lot –I hope they will! And it’s a nice character - a nicely-thought character.
Something you would like to add…
Yes! Joey has a degree in philosophy, which might not be represented well in the fact that he sells hot dogs… there is more beneath the character from what it might appear!
Character: Sofia, Lola's friend
Actor: Lucia Tomas, second year Psychology student from spain
Do you identify with your character?
In some parts, yes, because she is a very extroverted character. But in other things not so much, which you will understand when you come watch the play.
Why would people come see your character?
Because she has an introspection about herself and her life that I think would allow the public to learn a lot about themselves and their life. Also, Sofia is a hippie girl that really likes to go out and live life, and I think that the audience would be able to relate to her!
Something you would like to add…
I don’t think I can reveal any more information so you should just come watch the play!
We at the Stork are very excited to see the final production, after months of hard work and dedication from the IEU Theatre Club. Stay tuned for our review, and buy your tickets for the play here!
