FitClub: The Birth of a New Fitness Trend at IE University
The FitClub is a new sports concept created by Camila Monguzzi, 3rd year BCDM student from the Segovia Campus. It operates under the methodology of “confusing your body”, a very efficient fat loss method and for people who get bored when doing ‘always the same’ workout routines and exercises.
This new club started recently and has held different successful outdoor and indoor activities in Madrid. For those who would like to start living a healthier lifestyle or would like to improve their fitness, The Stork has answers to the “frequently asked questions”, that Camila has provided.
When did it start?
It started on September 27.
How does it work?
The pilot concept of FitClub, has started within the student community of IE University, specifically the one at the Madrid Campus. It presents a model of "fitness hopping" which means that every week there are different workout routines and activities at the most exclusive sports centres in the city.
As I mentioned, we combine indoor and outdoor activities each week. We carry out the indoor activities in selected sport centres with their best trainers, and for the outdoor activities I direct them and give a class under Russel Bateman’s methodology (SBC), as I learnt this methodology at a London event earlier this year.
For now, I am running the fitclub as a pilot project, therefore the fitness activities are once a week. Yet, soon I will launch the second phase of this project called “FITPLAN60”. This unique program will focus on the 60 days left before going home for Christmas. The goal is to arrive as happy as possible with yourself having trained for 60 days while having experienced the healthy habit program. In addition, this plan will come with special motivation events such as picnics, retreats and post training meals in the trendiest and healthiest places in Madrid such as Rawcoco, Fitfood, Juicy Avenue and many more that you will discover on this 60 day journey. Last but not least there will be a support system in place to avoid quitters.
How can I become a FitClub member?
By contacting Fit Club in Instagram (fitclub.global) and/or Facebook (fit club IE). We already have 80 members, and soon new events and surprises.
Why did you create the FitClub?
I do it because I love sports and love to share this passion with people around me. For many years I have been interested in learning more about well being, fitness and nutrition so people started asking me about all these things more and more so I decided to share my knowledge. The purpose is to have a good time, while doing different sports, testing your body and opening your mind to new habits.
Do you want to devote your future career to sports?
Maybe. Sports is one of the “branches” of the “tree” of projects I have. These branches are all united together by the same roots, in a unique and different professional profile… as a "multi-brand" under one command.
What are the FitClub goals?
1. Social (meeting new and diverse people)
2. Well being (how to take care of yourself in an integral way, by making healthy decisions)
3. Have fun (maximise Endorphins)
How will the Fit Club evolve?
Stay tuned, there are many new initiatives and partnerships coming soon including holding some Fit Retreats in secret locations with a selected group and massive master classes. We will showcase everything on our Instagram, a gallery of the most incredible sports centres in the world!
