Binge Watching Time
Classes, assignments, nights out... University can be quite stressful, so for all of you in need of a little time off, I share with you some exciting and intriguing TV shows. Hope you will enjoy it!
The National Hit: La Casa de Papel, 2 seasons (Netflix, Antena 3)
During the Communication Lab 2017, I had the chance to attend the shooting of the first episode of this show. Little did I know that a few months later it would become an international hit with worldwide fans. Filmed in Madrid, and first aired in Antena 3, La Casa de Papel follows a group of thieves led by an enigmatic character named The Professor. Their goal? Achieve the perfect plan and rob 2400 million euros from the Factory of Moneda and Timbre. From the powerful acting to the outstanding writing, every ingredient is present to feed you piece by piece the details of a bold and brilliantly unpredictable plan. The only question you'll be left with is: "How can I do the same?".
The Long-Time Performer: Peaky Blinders, 4 seasons (Netflix, Channel)
This Emmy-Snubbed Show is, without any doubt, one of the best TV Shows in the last decade. It claims high praises from both critics and audience. In addition to following the Peaky Blinders, a criminal group formed by the Shelby Family during the late 1910’s, the show impressively illustrates the stigma around the great war in an industrialized Birmingham. But more than that, it’s the splendid acting of Cillian Murphy that makes this show a must-see. The Irish actor displays one of his most accomplished performances. His tantalizing representation of Thomas Shelby leaves you begging for more episodes of Peaky Blinders. Even after watching four seasons…
The Outsider: Mindhunter, 1 season (Netflix)
Created by Joe Penhall and produced by David Fincher, this show has all it takes to be one of Netflix’s finest TV Shows of the moment. It follows two FBI agents in their journey to expand criminal science by exploring the minds of real life monsters. From the chilling Holden Ford (played by the exquisite Jonathan Groff), the FBI agent with a borderline morbid interest in the mind of psychopaths, to the frightening serial killer Edmund Kemper (played by Cameron Britton), every detail is taught off to make you dive into the gruesome minds of serial killers. This show is definitely not for the faint hearted.
