BBA Exams: What Happened?
IE Universities’ Business Administration degree has begun standardizing its exams as of last semester, in a bid to make examinations ‘fairer’.
“We want to respond to the students’ requests for fairer exams” said the BBA office regarding the standardizing of its exams and the way in which they are managed.
They added, “The people overseeing the exams are selected from outside the university, from people who work in education.”
Most of the requests for change came via class representatives, according to the BBA office. They claimed that the main complaint was of different exams with differing difficulties.
However, there was also complaints regarding cheating, a point the BBA office also allegedly considered when making its decision to standardize.
As of this moment, the BIR office have stated that they are not aware of any plan to standardize their own exams in the foreseeable future.
When asked how he felt about the change, Guglielmo Sirolli, 2nd year BBA student, described it as being “a more fair and efficient way of grading students.”
Bastien Le Bretton, also 2nd year BBA student, said he felt it was “well organized and detailed do the dot. This standardization is what makes IE a great and harmonious environment to work in.”
